The theories and practices of journalism in 21st century India are discussed in this volume. The four main sections examine: representing the unrepresented - dealing with the media representation (or lack) of maginalized groups of society; the plurality of practice - studying the coverage of important areas such as economics, legal issues, science, arts and culture and humour; the media in perspective - looking at different kinds of journalistic practices; and future trends - discussing newer forms of journalism such as blogging.
