This is an exceptional book by first time author Jui Karkare Navare. It is a portrait of a qualified engineer,a Gallant IPS Officer, a shrewd Diplomat, an Artist and over and above a man with a Golden Heart ! The book has a smooth flow that makes it difficult to put it aside once you start reading it. It describes how a man born in a simple Marathi family, educated in vernacular medium rose to the highest Echelons in the Police Department. The whole journey of Late Shri Hemant Karkare as documented by his daughter in impeccable English will be an inspiration not only to every young person who wants to join the Police Force but also to every young person who wants to scale great heights in his / her career. I am sure this book will also clear the miscommunication that is omnipresent between Police Department and Civilians. I would recommend every parent to read this book along with the children to embed patriotism and deep sense of accountability in their young minds.
