Mr. Karunakaran Mohanasundaram
Non–Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Karunakaran Mohanasundaram (Karuna), is the Non–Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He is Chief Financial Officer of Shoppers Stop Limited; Holding Company and of the Company. Karuna has over 25 years of hands-on experience in consumer, pharmaceutical industries, and largest direct selling beauty company in the world. His primary role was as country and regional CFO for large US based global multinational corporations in the recent years.

In his Regional Role, he has provided strong and clear leadership to business units in each country and their finance leads on strategic and budget planning process and drove day-to-day performance to improve revenue, profits and cash in each business unit so that the region met its quarterly and annual financial goals. Led and established robust but simplified business and financial processes, including all areas of compliance for financial reporting, S&OP process, IT systems and Cost and Cash Improvement programs. Built strong capability in the team and successfully developed potential future finance leads and successors.

His last job was with Avon a US based direct selling beauty company in the world, as its Executive Director (Finance) – Asia Pacific region at Singapore from 2014 to 2018 and prior to that from 2005 to 2014 Karuna was in Heinz as Country CFO and later as CFO for Asia. Further from 1993 to 2005 Karuna worked in Boehringer/Nicholas Piramal as Head of Finance and General Manager Finance and prior to that from 1991 to 1993 Karuna worked in Reliance Industries Limited.

Karuna is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, with more than 25 years of experience.
