Product Description

While Mambo Mixers enchanted with its delightful Latin American cocktails and tapas, Calypso Coolers captivates as it takes readers through the islands and coasts of this turqoise-colored sea, and entices them with even more drinks and tasty treats to choose from. Simple, sensuous and of course, fun; this second book expands on the summer cocktail party repertoire. Calypso Coolers, a collection of 50 cocktails and 20 appetizers peppered with anecdotes and interesting tidbits of information, is equally as charming and gorgeous as its predecessor. The cocktail recipes include: the Goombay Smash, with rum, orange juice and pineapple; the Dark and Stormy, with rum and ginger beer; Mango sangria; the Brown Cow, with milk and coffee liquer; and a host of daquiries and other summertime favorites (as well as a few rarities!). The appetizer recipes include: Tostones, which are toasted plantains; Arepas, or Costa Rican-Style Corn Cakes; Juanitas Yuca Fritters; Okra Polenta; Caribbean Guacamole, which adds papaya and coconut to the classic recipe; and Jamaican Jerk Chicken.
