As a serial entrepreneur, Hank Nothhaft has been a pathfinder in the telecommunications and networking industries, growing pioneering startups, such as Danger, Inc., Concentric Network Corp., DSC Communications and GTE Telenet Communications (now Sprint) into mature industry leaders. As Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Danger, Inc., Hank directed the company from its initial product launch in 2002 to its position as a market leader in the mobile internet market and subsequent acquisition by Microsoft in 2008 for $500M. In 1995, Hank raised the initial venture funding of $10M from Kleiner Perkins and Goldman Sachs, and then led Concentric Network Corporation to explosive growth that led to a successful IPO in 1997 followed by a $2.5B acquisition by Nextlink in 1999. Hank serves as the President & CEO, Chairman of Tessera, Inc., a developer of semiconductor packaging technology for miniaturization and increased performance of electronic products. He has served on the board of directors of DSC Communications, VMX Systems, Concentric Network Corporation, Ocular Networks, Vertical Networks and David Systems. He also served on the telecommunications advisory board of Compaq Computer Corporation. Hank has an M.B.A. from the George Washington University in Information Systems Technology and a B.S. with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a former officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He recieved the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in 2000.
