Gopaldas Neeraj was a Hindi author, teacher, a frequent participant at many a poetry readings and songwriter for Hindi cinema. He was born on 4 January 1925, in the united province of Avadh and Agra in British India, now known as Uttar Pradesh, to Babu Brajkishore Saxena, in Purawali village near Maheva, Itwah.
