Product Description

Mahi started running towards the cliff ... The wind whistled in his ears as he gathered speed ... He could even hear Gherundo and Duranto laughing. Were they screaming 'fly, fly, fly'-or was it 'die, die, die'?

When Mahi, a young elephant, decides to fulfil his dream of flying over the blue mountains, little does he know that he's setting in motion a chain of events that will endanger him, his mother and the whole of Anastan. He has only one goal-to find and rescue Varana, his father, former chief of the herd, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Trumpo, their vice president, is convinced that the wicked tigers of Pulistan have killed Varana. But can Mahi trust Trumpo? Who is his friend, and who is his foe?

Allegorical and satirical, but also hilarious and delightful, this story will entertain both children and older readers as they join Mahi on his exciting journey and discover whether he does, one day, really soar over the blue mountains.

About Author

Anand Neelakantan is the author of the widely acclaimed Bahubali trilogy, the prequel to S. S. Rajamouli's movie. Anand is also the author of Asura: Tale of the Vanquished, which told the Ramayana from Ravana's point of view. He followed it up with the tremendously successful Ajaya series that told Mahabharata from Duryodhana's perspective. Vanara, Valmiki's Women, Nala Damayanti, The Tale of the Flying Mountains, and The Very, Extremely, Most Naughty Asura Tales for Kids, etc., are his other popular works. Anand's books have been translated into more than fifteen languages, including Indonesian and Burmese.

S. S. Rajamouli has announced a mini-series based on Anand's books, on the lines of Game of Thrones. Anand has also written scripts and screenplays for popular TV series like Siya Ke Ram, Ashoka, Mahabali Hanuman, Swaraj, Taj: Divided by Blood (Zee 5), Sarfarosh (Netflix) among others. Anand writes regularly for The New Indian Express.

Doodlenerve is the creative duo of Subhadeep Roy and Shiladitya Bose, who have been crafting art and animation over the past few years. Their books include The Tale of the Naughty Flying Mountains, Stories and Sutras, Akbar Birbal and the Haunted Gurukul, The Secret of Fire and Other Folktales, Mythonama, Spellbound! and The Very, Extremely, Most Naughty Asura Tales for Kids. Illustrating for book publishers has always been one of Doodlenerve's most favourite avenues of creativity. They aim to have a mini library of their illustrated books one day.
