About Author

Digvijay Singh Deo is CNN-News18 sports editor. From Odisha, Digvijay is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. A journalist since 2003, Digvijay has been covering the Olympic Movement all through his career. He was one of the first television reporters to focus solely on Olympic sports and as a result is widely respected by India's Olympic athletes, who on most occasions give their first reactions or interviews to him. He has been part of the team that won two News Television Awards, in 2011 for Indian Sports Legends and in 2012 for The Contenders. In recognition of his contribution to Olympic sports in India, Digvijay was the only journalist invited to be an Olympic torchbearer during the run in New Delhi before the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Amit Bose is a visual strategy consultant based in New Delhi. With over a decade's experience in broadcast journalism, he creates compelling long- and short-form editorial content that caters to print publications, TV news networks and digital media for a range of commercial, charity and broadcast clients. He enjoys working on social issues that engulf a developing country like India, and is inclined towards a fusion of research and photographic practice. Amit has worked as a sports journalist for nearly a decade with leading TV news channels in the country and also contributes regularly to leading travel publications and various other digital news portals based in India.
