Product Description
Born in India, Shweta Singh Kirti attended National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and pursued fashion design for several years, before changing course. Post an MBA, her penchant for business and love for spirituality culminated into a passion project called Damara Kids, an after-school centre where she teaches mindfulness and meditation techniques to children to help them build focus, concentration and self-regulation.
Shweta serves on the board of the non-profit organization OMniAwareness: OM Non-dual Infinite Awareness. The organization provides a platform to connect seekers from all backgrounds with renowned teachers of non-duality from various traditions and organizations. It conducts immersive retreats and programmes that provide an ideal contemplative setting for participants to dive deep into the teachings of non-duality. It also cultivates a supportive community to learn, grow and share the knowledge and experience of non-dual principles and practices.
No human is unacquainted with the concept of pain. It is an inescapable universal experience. Shweta Kirti’s pain has been, unfortunately, very public because of the death of her thirty-four-year-old brother, the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
What she learnt, however, is that while pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. It is pain that can teach us how to rise above suffering and the limits we create for ourselves with our attachment to material goals like money, fame, success and relationships. In this book, Shweta shares her learnings so that no one is alone on this hard but necessary odyssey.
Synthesizing science, spirituality and philosophy, Pain: A Portal to Enlightenment is an invitation to embark on a transformative journey to find inner peace and fulfilment no matter what life throws at you.
