Product Description

A second heart-stopping contemporary adventure inspired by Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories, from real-life adventurer Bear Grylls.

Could you survive in the jungle?

Six months after his adventures in Spirit of the Jungle, Mak returns to the Wainganga River, where a conservation project is tracking the elusive wild elephant, endangered by loggers and poachers.

When a young elephant is captured by an unscrupulous merchant, Mak and his friend Diya follow them into the heart of the jungle in a quest to set the animal free. But soon Mak finds that he must remember all his survival skills to escape danger.

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's classic The Second Jungle Book, Return to the Jungle is an exciting contemporary action-adventure from the nation's favourite adventurer, Bear Grylls.

Bear Grylls has become known around the world as one of the most recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure.

Trained from an early age in martial arts, and taught to climb and sail by his father, Bear went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, serving with 21 SAS, before becoming one of the youngest-ever climbers of Mount Everest.

He is a family man and a number-one bestselling author, with numerous books to his name, including his autobiography, Mud, Sweat and Tears, and the popular Mission Survival series for children. Bear is an honorary Colonel to the Royal Marines Commandos, and the youngest-ever Chief Scout, an inspiration to forty million Scouts worldwide.

From TV sensation Bear Grylls comes two explosive survival novels; Spirit of the Jungle and its sequel Return to the Jungle, both featuring gorgeous cover artwork and black and white inside illustrations from Javier Joaquin. These fast-paced and gripping action-adventure stories, inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book, are not to be missed.

Survival expert and adventurer Bear Grylls draws on his real-life experience to bring these books to life, making them the perfect, thrilling and adrenaline-fuelled companion for young readers aged 9-11.

About Author

Bear Grylls was brought up on the Isle of Wight, where his late father taught him to climb and sail. A martial arts expert, Bear went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Air Service (21 SAS), before suffering a free fall parachuting accident in Africa that left his back broken in three places. Despite this he went on to become the youngest Briton ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Now one of the youngest and most sought after motivational speakers, he relates his remarkable experiences to audiences and corporations all around the world. He has also presented several prime-time TV adventure series for Channel Four in the UK and Discovery Channel in America, notably Born Survivor, which was also a bestselling book. Bear lives with his wife Shara, and their sons Jesse and Marmaduke, on a Dutch barge in London and on a small remote Welsh island. His bestselling books Facing Up, about this record-breaking ascent of Everest, and Facing the Frozen Ocean, his inspirational story of leading a team across the treacherous North Atlantic, a feat for which he was awarded an Honorary commission in the Royal Navy, are both published by Pan Macmillan.

He is also the author of several children's books, including the The Jungle Book: New Adventures series, a contemporary update of Rudyard Kipling's classic The Jungle Book.
