Product Description

A first novelty retelling of Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, with push, pull and slide mechanisms.

First Stories: The Wind in the Willows is the perfect introduction for young children to Kenneth Grahame's classic tale.

Push, pull and slide mechanisms bring the story of Mr. Toad and his high-speed adventure to life. Row down the river with Mole and Ratty, whizz around with Toad in his car and make an incredible escape from prison! This well-loved tale is beautifully imagined for a new generation by children's illustrator Jean Claude.

Little ones can collect more books in the First Stories series, including Doctor Dolittle, Peter Pan, and Pinocchio.

Jean Claude is a freelance illustrator from the UK, currently living and working in Portugal with her partner, child, and their (slightly) overweight cat. When she's not drawing she loves making ceramics in a local studio, visiting the botanical gardens and baking bread. She has illustrated several titles for Campbell Books, including Busy Storytime, and Doctor Dolittle and A Christmas Carol in the First Stories series.First Stories are lively introductions to classic tales, from Alice in Wonderland to Sleeping Beauty, The Three Little Pigs to Peter Pan. Young children will love the push, pull and slide mechanisms, which give movement to the stories and make little ones feel like they’re sharing in the storytelling! A tiny hidden creature on every page encourages children to look closely at the pictures and engage with the story. Each title is beautifully re-imagined for toddlers with child-friendly illustrations from Colonel Moutarde, Dan Taylor, Miriam Bos, Natascha Rosenberg, Dean Gray and Sophie Foster.
