Product Description
The Wind in the Willows (Collins Classics) is a book about the adventures of the friends, Mole, Badger, Weasels and Toad. The story is set in the idyllic English countryside near a riverbank. It is about the escapades of these friends and shows Rat's fascination with rivers and Toad's passion with motorcars amongst many other aspects.
The story revolves around the animal denizens of an English riverbank. The friends each have a different personality, such as the always - ready - to - fight Weasels, the proud Toad, the casual and easygoing Mole and the wise and wily Badger. Toad owns the splendid Toad Hall and is so immensely wealthy that he does not know what to do with his wealth. Toad is taught in the ways of life by his dear and well - meaning friends, who are always supportive and protective towards him. The book also depicts a fascinating battle for Toad Hall towards its end.
Toad comes out as an irritating and problematic character, like always and his friends are helpful, like always. Badger is supportive and tries to protect Toad, but is unreliable and occasionally not large - hearted. Mole is quiet and adaptive, while Rat is brave and sees romance in everything. There are, however, other mean creatures who scheme in the background.
The book is hidden with inner meanings and lessons that are meant not only for children, but for everyone else as well. It also encourages one to dream about incidents that had been pleasurable for them, such as imagining themselves floating on a river at dawn past plants and trees without any noise at all. It talks about the strength of the bonds between friends and points similarities with life in its larger context.
The Wind in the Willows (Collins Classics) takes you on the adventures of four friends who inhabit an English riverbank by delving into their skirmishes, compassion and feelings towards each other. The book was published by Harper Press in 2011 and is available as a paperback.
