Terms and Conditions: Crossword E-Gift Cards issued by Crossword Bookstores Private Ltd.
Crossword Bookstores Private Limited (“Crossword” or CBPL” or “we” or “us”) carries out its business from its retail stores (under the brand name “Crossword”) and website “Crossword.in” (collectively “Platform”).
The terms and conditions mentioned hereunder shall apply to the Crossword E-Gift Cards issued by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited (Crossword). Crossword is a private limited company organized under the laws of India, and is the issuer of the E-Gift Cards.
Purchase:- You may purchase Crossword E-Gift Cards through various options available on www.crossword.in & the corresponding mobile site and mobile application in the manner provided hereunder. By purchasing or using a E-Gift Card, you are agreeing to and accept these terms and conditions. Crossword E-Gift Cards cannot be purchased or redeemed at the Crossword retail i.e. physical stores.
You may add Crossword E-Gift Card as any regular product available on www.crossword.in to your bag and proceed to the “One-Step” checkout page for payment. You may use various payment options available on www.crossword.in to process payment for the E-Gift Card. You cannot use E-Gift Card as a payment method for purchasing a E-Gift Card. The email-id mentioned on the Shipping address page will get an emailer with the E-Gift Card Code mentioned in it. You can use this E-Gift Card Code as a payment method to purchase any product on www.crossword.in (except the E-Gift Cards). The E-Gift Card email may also provide additional details about the E-Gift Card balance, Validity, Use Instructions, Preview & Print options. Please do not share the E-Gift Card code or E-Gift Card email with anyone other than the recipient of the E-Gift Card. If you are gifting the E-Gift Card to another person then do remember to mention the email id of the recipient in the Shipping address page email id section. Redemption: E-Gift Cards may only be redeemed toward the purchase of eligible products on Crossword.in. E-Gift Cards cannot be used as a payment method for purchasing another E-Gift Cards.
Purchases are deducted from the redeemer's E-Gift Card balance. Any unused E-Gift Card balance will remain associated with the redeemers Crossword balance account and applied to purchases, in order of earliest expiration date. If a purchase exceeds the redeemers E-Gift Card balance, the remaining amount must be paid by various payment options available on www.crossword.in with an exception of a E-Gift card payment. No fees or charges apply to E-Gift Cards, the recipient will get an E-Gift card emailer instead of a physical parcel. Crossword may provide E-Gift Card purchasers with information about the redemption status of E-Gift Cards that they purchase or use. You agree and authorize us to: (i) hold your E-Gift Card balance until service completion; and (ii) fail the transaction if your balance in the Crossword E-Gift Card has expired at the end of the services.
Limitations: E-Gift Cards, including any unused E-Gift Card balances, expire one year from the date of issuance. You may request for revalidation of any expired E-Gift Cards. Upon receipt of such request, the E-Gift Card may be revalidated only once for 7 days after due verification and subject to applicable terms and conditions. E-Gift Cards may only be purchased in denominations ranging from Rs.500, Rs.1000, Rs.2000, Rs.3000, Rs.5000 or such other limits as Crossword may determine. E-Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other E-Gift cards. E-Gift Cards cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value or redeemed for cash. Except as provided hereunder or as per applicable law, amount in your E-Gift Cards will not be refunded to you under any circumstances. No refund will be provided in cash, at any point of time. Unused E-Gift Card balances may not be transferred to another users account. No interest will be payable by Crossword on any E-Gift Card or E-Gift Card balance. Crossword make no representation or warranty that the website www.crossword.in will always be accessible without interruption.
Fraud: Crossword is not responsible if a E-Gift Card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without permission. Crossword will have the right to close the customer accounts and take payment from alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained E-Gift Card is redeemed and/or used to make purchases on Crossword.in.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You, and Crossword each agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Pune. You agree to indemnify Crossword for all claims brought against Crossword E-Gift Card arising out of or in connection with a breach of any of these terms and conditions.
Limitation of Liability: CROSSWORD DOES NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO E-GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT A E-GIFT CARD IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY WILL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH E-GIFT CARD.
Password Security: You shall, at all times, keep the www.crossword.in passwords that are generated by you strictly confidential and not reveal the same to any person or entity.
General Terms: The Crossword.in Terms of Use apply to the E-Gift Cards. Crossword reserves the right to change these E-Gift Card terms and conditions from time to time in its discretion and without prior notice to you. All terms and conditions are applicable to the extent permitted by law.
