1. General Terms
• Crossword Gift Cards (“GCs” or “Gift Cards”) are issued by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited and powered by Qwikcilver Solutions Pvt. Ltd., now amalgamated with Pine Labs Private Limited, authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
• “E-Gift Card” refers to digital gift cards issued by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited or through appointed third-party agencies.
• “Physical Gift Card” refers to physical cards issued by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited at its own physical stores.
• Crossword Gift Cards include both E-Gift Cards and Physical Gift Cards.
• Crossword refers to the brand owned by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited.
• Crossword Gift Cards or E-Gift Cards are always 16 Digit & Pin is 6 digit
• Crossword.in refers to the website owned and managed by Crossword Bookstores Private Limited.
• Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa.
• Crossword Bookstores Private Limited carries out its business from its retail stores (under the brand name “Crossword”) and website Crossword.in (collectively “Platform”).
• By purchasing or using a E-Gift Card, you agree to and accept these terms and conditions.
2. E-Gift Cards
• E-Gift Cards can be purchased on www.crossword.in using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
• Credit and Debit Cards issued outside India cannot be used for purchasing Crossword E-Gift Cards.
• E-Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other E-Gift Cards or third-party gift cards.
• Crossword E-Gift Cards (alpha-numeric) cannot be purchased or redeemed at physical stores. Numeric series (1001–2100) can be purchased online or offline and redeemed in both.
• E-Gift Cards are delivered via email and SMS and may sometimes be delayed due to system issues. Email contains E-Gift Card code, balance, validity, and usage instructions.
• Do not share the E-Gift Card code or email with anyone other than the intended recipient.
• E-Gift Cards can be redeemed at www.crossword.in and Crossword-owned offline stores (excluding franchisee stores).
• E-Gift Cards can be redeemed multiple times online until the balance is exhausted. For offline stores, redemption is allowed only once; any balance must be redeemed online.
• If the order value exceeds the E-Gift Card balance, the difference must be paid via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI. COD is not allowed.
• Validity: 12 months from issuance unless specified otherwise. Revalidation may be requested only once within 7 days after verification and subject to applicable terms.
• E-Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. They cannot be reloaded, resold, or transferred for value.
• Cardholder is responsible for safety and confidentiality of card details. Crossword/Qwikcilver is not liable for loss, theft, or misuse.
• Crossword/Qwikcilver reserves the right to cancel cards obtained through fraudulent means.
• No fees or charges apply. Purchasers receive an email notification instead of a physical parcel.
• Crossword may provide information about redemption status of E-Gift Cards.
• You agree and authorize Crossword to hold your E-Gift Card balance until service completion and fail transactions if expired.
• Crossword makes no warranties regarding functionality of the website or E-Gift Cards; replacement is the sole remedy for non-functional cards.
3. Physical Gift Cards
• Physical Gift Cards can be purchased at Crossword physical stores using available payment options.
• They cannot be used to purchase other Crossword Gift Cards or third-party gift cards.
• Physical Gift Cards can be redeemed online at www.crossword.in or at Crossword-owned offline stores (excluding franchisee stores).
• They can be redeemed multiple times until balance is fully utilized.
• If order value exceeds the Gift Card amount, balance must be paid by Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Cash (only in offline stores). COD is not allowed.
• Validity: 12 months from issuance unless specified otherwise. Revalidation may be requested and is subject to verification and additional terms.
• Physical Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
• Cardholder is responsible for safety and confidentiality of card details.
• Crossword/Qwikcilver assumes no responsibility for products purchased using the Gift Card. For defective products, contact the nearest Crossword bookstore.
• Physical Gift Cards cannot be reloaded or resold.
• Once purchased, cancellations are at Crossword/Qwikcilver’s discretion only.
• If KYC details as per RBI guidelines are incorrect or insufficient, Crossword/Qwikcilver reserves the right to cancel the Gift Card.
4. Fraud, Liability, and Security
• Crossword is not responsible if an E-Gift Card is lost, stolen, destroyed, or used without permission.
• Crossword has the right to close accounts and take alternative payment if fraudulently obtained E-Gift Cards are redeemed.
• Crossword does not make any warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Replacement is the sole remedy for non-functional E-Gift Cards.
• You shall keep all www.crossword.in passwords strictly confidential.
5. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
• These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
• Both you and Crossword agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Pune.
• You agree to indemnify Crossword for all claims arising out of or in connection with a breach of these terms.
6. Miscellaneous
• Any offers or cashback on Gift Cards may be withdrawn at Crossword/Qwikcilver’s discretion.
• Crossword/Qwikcilver reserves the right to cancel Gift Cards purchased using fraudulent means, with refunds made to the original source.
• Gift Cards are prepaid payment instruments regulated by RBI. Crossword/Qwikcilver may share purchaser/redeemer KYC details with RBI or statutory authorities as required.
• Crossword.in Terms of Use apply to the E-Gift Cards.
• Crossword reserves the right to change these E-Gift Card terms and conditions at its discretion and without prior notice.
