At Home in the Universe is an extraordinary first person account by housing finance pioneer, business leader and former CEO of DHFL Property Services BK Madhur. The book spans his journey over seven decades beginning with an impoverished childhood in a remote village in South India soon after India gained Independence. The book graphically describes his difficulties in obtaining an education. Arriving in Mumbai as a young man in 1975, BK Madhur threw himself into every kind of activity. He progressed rapidly and began to lay the foundations of a productive life. A chance meeting with the visionary founder of Dewan Housing, Rajesh Kumar Wadhawan, led to a pioneering role in the Indian Housing Finance sector. For almost two decades BK Madhur was instrumental in working alongside Rajesh Kumar Wadhawan and creating access to affordable housing for ordinary Indians across the country. The book takes us through the next big shift in BK MAdhur’s full life as it takes the reader into a personal journey of spiritual discovery. This was a journey hastened by the untimely demise of Rajesh Kumar Wadhawan in 2000.
