Kim is Rudyard Kipling's enduring coming-of-age classic, a sweeping adventure set in late 19th-century India. Blending vibrant travel with spiritual seeking, this novel follows the young Kimball O'Hara as he navigates a world of bustling markets, hidden loyalties, and political intrigue during the Great Game. Perfect for readers who love historical fiction, immersive landscapes, and stories about identity, loyalty, and the choices that shape us, Kim invites you to travel alongside a restless boy toward adulthood and understanding.
Written with Kipling's lyrical, accessible prose, Kim moves through a series of encounters that feel both grand and intimate. The journey unfolds as episodic adventures—across cities, deserts, monasteries, and ceremonial moments—while the bond between Kimball O'Hara and the Tibetan Lama leads them toward the legendary River of the Arrow, a path that tests faith, courage, and the meaning of enlightenment. The book's themes of loyalty, identity, and sacrifice unfold against the vivid backdrop of the Great Game, weaving political intrigue into Kim's personal voyage. In this hardback edition, the timeless tale is presented in a durable, collectible format that honors Kipling's prose and makes Kim a cherished addition to any bookshelf.
