This is one of those books I will keep on my bedside table for years. Not because it's heavy going — actually the writing is beautifully accessible — but because there is so much to return to. Roopa Pai covers ground that most of us are navigating and does so with real depth and compassion. Highly recommend.
I came to this book at exactly the right time in my life — which probably sounds like something everyone says, but I mean it genuinely. Roopa Pai's voice is calm and wise and completely non-preachy, and the ideas are presented in a way that feels immediately applicable. I have already re-read three chapters and underlined more passages than I can count.
Reading this felt like a long conversation with someone genuinely wise. Roopa Pai has a rare ability to make ancient wisdom feel completely relevant to modern life — nothing feels dusty or theoretical. I have gifted this to three people already and every one of them has come back grateful for the recommendation.
I don't usually write reviews but this book genuinely changed something in me and I felt I owed it one. The Gita for Children is the kind of reading experience that you feel in your body, not just your head. Profound, practical, and written with extraordinary care. Roopa Pai has produced something really special.
I've been shopping at Crossword stores for years but only recently started using their website regularly — crosswordbookstores.com has genuinely impressed me. The catalogue is enormous, the filters work well, and the curated reading lists are a great discovery tool. Ordered this along with a couple of others and everything arrived together, well-packed and right on time. Between the book and the shopping experience, five stars all the way.
