I finished Power of Habit in three days which should tell you something about how readable it is. Charles Duhigg takes behavioural science and makes it feel not like a lecture but like a conversation with someone who is both smart and genuinely interested in helping you. Practical, insightful and a pleasure to read.
This book genuinely surprised me. I expected solid but fairly standard psychology content and instead got something fresh, well-researched and unexpectedly gripping. Charles Duhigg writes with real wit and the examples are so relatable that the ideas stick immediately. Already recommended it to four people.
What sets this apart from other psychology books is how immediately useful everything is. Charles Duhigg doesn't just explain what's happening in your brain — they give you real frameworks for changing it. Engaging, well-paced, and genuinely one of the best non-fiction reads I've had in a long time.
I came to this book a little sceptical and left completely convinced. Charles Duhigg earns every insight with solid evidence and presents it all in a way that never feels dry or academic. The chapter on habits alone is worth the price of the book. Highly, highly recommended.
One of those books where you keep stopping to tell whoever is nearby what you just learned. Charles Duhigg's understanding of how the mind works — and how we can work with it rather than against it — is presented with real clarity and care. I have already applied several of the ideas and the results have been tangible.
