Just finished reading of a childhood school days story of Mr Bond at Simla's Bishops Cotton. The lucid story and selective words of Mr Bond is a style in itself. I am a great fan of Mr Bond. What touched my heart is his best friend Mr Omar, who left for Peshawar after partition. The only letter Bond received from him and his joy. Bond writes that during war with Pak and bombing at Ambala cant by Pak, one fifhter plane was shot down and one of the Pilots died happen to be Bond's friend Mr Omar.
It makes interesting for me to read Bond's stories even at my age of 70.
Simply, I love Mr Bond and his stories. I suggest every parent to make available Mr Bond's story books to their children. Once they read the books, they get addicted to reading.
Kick the mobile, media and screen time and go for age old reading of books. This is my advice to kids and parents. Shoot the screen and save the child.
Genuinely one of the best books I've read this year. Ruskin Bond writes with clarity and intelligence and the ideas in All Time Favourites for Children are both original and immediately relevant. I came away from it thinking differently about something I thought I understood. That doesn't happen often. Highly recommended.
This is exactly what a good book should do โ entertain you, challenge you, and leave you feeling like the time was genuinely well spent. Ruskin Bond delivers on all three counts. I've already recommended it to everyone in my office. A wonderful purchase.
I picked this up on a recommendation and I'm so glad I did. Ruskin Bond has produced something special here โ enjoyable to read while also being genuinely substantive. The kind of book you want to press into people's hands. Five stars without any hesitation at all.
Few books manage to be both intellectually stimulating and genuinely enjoyable to read. All Time Favourites for Children is one of them. Ruskin Bond's command of the subject is evident throughout and the presentation is superb. Highly, highly recommended.
