Outstanding in every respect. Thirteen Months in the Himalayas shows Om Swami at their very best โ clear thinking, elegant writing, ideas that linger. I don't give five stars lightly but this absolutely earned them.
Genuinely one of the best books I've read this year. Om Swami writes with clarity and intelligence and the ideas in Thirteen Months in the Himalayas are both original and immediately relevant. I came away from it thinking differently about something I thought I understood. That doesn't happen often. Highly recommended.
Must read - covering the Himalayan journey part of "If truth be told" ; its written with so much modesty, honesty , truthfulness and yet so deeply profound. Shows the determination and will of one of the greatest saint to walk in this century.
I picked this up on a recommendation and I'm so glad I did. Om Swami has produced something special here โ enjoyable to read while also being genuinely substantive. The kind of book you want to press into people's hands. Five stars without any hesitation at all.
Few books manage to be both intellectually stimulating and genuinely enjoyable to read. Thirteen Months in the Himalayas is one of them. Om Swami's command of the subject is evident throughout and the presentation is superb. Highly, highly recommended.
