About Author

Jupinderjit Singh is an award winning journalist, writer and author based in Chandigarh, Punjab. He is an author of three books. The first was - Justice for Jassi- which he co-authored with decorated Canadian journalist Fabian Dawson. The book was based on real life love story between a Canadian born Indian girl Jassi and Mithu, a lowly peasant of Jagraon in Ludhiana and eventually honour killing of Jassi at the behest of her mother got huge response with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arresting the accused mother and Uncle of Jassi eleven years after Jassi was murdered. The second book Years later on Facebook- an anthology of his short stories and Middles published in various newspapers is set to release early next week. The book is a fine example of creative writing through Middles and short stories, which can be useful for budding journalists. The third is a specimen of investigative journalism. It is tentatively titled 86 years journey of Bhagat Singhs pistol. Jupinderjit had discovered this lost pistol of the great martyr in November 2016. He has penned the book on his investigation. The book id a learning experience for the students in the art of investigation. He has over 20 years of varied experience in reporting in Jammu and Kashmir, covering entire state of Rajasthan as the State Correspondent. He was awarded Prem Bhatia young journalist award for his stories and research on the changing demography of Punjab vis--vis the inflow of migrants from eastern and central states to Punjab and outflow of Punjabis to western countries in 2005, He is a Fellow with the Centre for Science and Environment on Forest Rights for the Tribal in Jammu and Kashmir.
