Tui T Sutherland builds tension with such precision that every scene feels like the calm before something terrible, and the payoff is absolutely worth it. One of the best thrillers I've read in years — properly gripping.

Finished this in one sitting — literally did not move from the sofa for five hours. Tui T Sutherland delivers a twisting, intelligent, genuinely scary narrative that keeps you off-balance until the very last line. Absolutely worth every minute. Hands down one of the best I've read this year.

Tui T Sutherland plays fair — all the clues are there — but the misdirection is so good that the ending still hit me like a train.
