Product Description

Vanara: The Love Story Of Baali, Sugreeva And Tara is an epic myth-inspired historical fantasy that reimagines the Ramayana through the vanara world. Set in Kishkindha and beyond, it follows Baali and his brother Sugreeva as they struggle to free their people, while Tara's pivotal choices shape a continent on the edge of war. Written for adult readers and fans of mythic retellings, bold romance, and political drama, the novel carries a Shakespearean depth of tragedy paired with an expansive, adventurous heart.

Anand Neelakantan's Vanara is told in a lush, narrative-driven voice that blends mythic lore with political intrigue. The book unfolds with a cinematic pace, inviting readers into a world where a slave-born people forge their own destiny and a city, Kishkindha, becomes both refuge and rallying point. Depth comes from the relationships at its center—the bond between Baali and Sugreeva, the magnetism of Tara, and the moral cost of leadership—without shying away from difficult choices.

The narrative in Vanara blends action, romance, and mythic history, presenting key themes through character-driven scenes rather than exposition. Readers encounter a world where power, loyalty, and the struggle for equality drive every decision, while the rhythm of the storytelling—epic in scope but intimate in emotion—keeps the pace lively and immersive.

  • Reimagined Ramayana narrative through the vanara perspective
  • Centered on Baali, Sugreeva, and Tara, with a high-stakes love triangle
  • Rich world-building: Kishkindha, its origins, and a society forging emancipation
  • Themes of leadership, loyalty, power, and the cost of ambition
  • Cinematic, character-driven prose with lush imagery and emotional arcs

After finishing Vanara, readers carry a nuanced understanding of these legendary figures and the world they inhabit. The story invites reflection on power, love, and loyalty, offering a lasting sense of wonder and insight about how choices shape destinies.
