This book addresses something fundamental about how we live and work that most of us have been getting wrong without realising it. The revelation feels both surprising and obvious once articulated. The author writes with genuine insight and real practical knowledge. I have applied several of the key ideas and found them to make an immediate difference. I now buy copies to give as gifts for birthdays and work milestones. A genuinely valuable and beautifully written book for our times.
Time spent reading this book will pay dividends for years to come. The insights are genuinely applicable to every area of life and the framework provided is one I have returned to repeatedly since finishing. The writing is warm and accessible without sacrificing depth. I particularly appreciated how the author acknowledges complexity rather than offering easy solutions. This is serious self-improvement thinking presented in an engaging and human way. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
This book stands out in the crowded self-help genre because it prioritises practical wisdom over inspirational platitudes. Every chapter delivers a concrete insight or strategy you can apply immediately. I have been implementing the key ideas for two months and the impact on my daily life has been genuine and measurable. The writing is clear and engaging without being condescending. A rare self-help book that actually helps. Highly recommended to anyone seeking real and lasting personal change.
I have read dozens of personal development books and most fall into the same traps of vague positivity and recycled ideas. This one is different. The approach is fresh and grounded in evidence, the strategies are specific rather than generic, and the writing is engaging throughout. I found myself highlighting passages on almost every page. This has already become one of my most gifted books. A genuinely important contribution to the genre that deserves its success. Highly recommended.
It's a self help book. There are various topics, like: behaviours, habits, daily routine, happiness, decision (to do something)-commit-affirm-validate, emotional intelligence, discomfort/feeling fuzzy, maturity, healing, better things to do for self, fall in love with the process, improve n increase ones resistance, look at the new perspective, jot down the points (for: dream moment, things that will make one happy, questions n problems that need to think n answer it, signs that shows the mental/emotional breakdown, detox the mind, reminders for what one is doing in their life, to live for self, thinking (positive, distorted n negative), 8 ancient teachings of zen to navigate into the modern world), the importance of music/songs/books/anything one love/thanking behavior, habits/lifestyle affecting health (body parts/body), goals (home, work, income, etc) set for enjoying n not chasing it, being creative (is an expression of oneself), mantras for oneself to keep in mind and repeat everyday, inner voice, simplicity (clean n clear thinking), value of sufferings. There are essays written in a simple language and i have started thinking about it. It has covered: personal, professional & social areas. Some topics are repeated in this book. But it's okay to refresh it again in one's thoughts.
