Discovered this title through Crossword's recommended picks section online and it turned out to be one of my best reads in months. The website is intuitive, the wishlist feature is genuinely useful, and the checkout is smooth. Book arrived beautifully packaged within three days. This is exactly how an online bookstore should work and I'll keep coming back to crosswordbookstores.com for all my reading needs.
Wonderful in every sense. The story is inventive, the characters are lovable, and the themes — friendship, courage, kindness — come through without a single ounce of preachiness. Sudha Murty makes it all feel completely natural. My kids are already asking when the next one is coming. Five stars easily.
My daughter has read this three times already. Not because I asked her to — because she wanted to. Sudha Murty just has this gift for connecting with young readers in a way that feels completely natural and never condescending. The story is funny, warm, and genuinely exciting. Absolutely perfect.
What I love about this book — apart from how much my children love it — is that it's genuinely good as a piece of storytelling. Sudha Murty doesn't talk down to young readers and the result is something that works for adults too. We read it together as a family and had a wonderful time.
I bought this as a birthday gift and the child in question finished it in two days and immediately asked for more books by the same author. That is the highest possible praise from an eight-year-old. The humour is perfectly pitched, the story moves beautifully, and the heart of it is real.
